5 Tips on How to stay fit during quarantine

Many people have struggled during self-isolation to keep healthy habits and stay fit. Many have gained weight and struggled since the normal daily routines have totally taken a new course. To stay fit or lose the weight you have already gained follow these five simple steps. They are great for not only maintaining normal weight but also maintaining your overall health. It’s not rocket science. All you need is a little bit a discipline and guidance to get started. So here we go!

1. Meal planning

Planning ahead makes it easier for you to resist bad choices. You know what you are getting when you enter the store and you don’t have to go shopping until you’ve finished with your weekly meal plan. Don’t keep any goodies at home or you’ll get tempted. The fact that you don’t have to visit the store often will also help  you resist the unhealthy foods.

There are many meal plans in this site if you want to check out them from the health or recipes section. Here is a picture of one meal plan for a day. It has the nutrients needed and a great variety of veggies, fruits and meat.

3 eggs, 170g mince, 84g rice, 80g peas, dash salt and pepper, 1 tbsp olive oil, 56g avocado, 6 kiwis, 2  cups papaya, 2 bananas, 1  cup cauliflower, 3 stalk spring onion, dash white pepper, dash salt, 1 cup dill, 2 small zucchinis, 1 cup milk+84g milk, 1 medium onion, 1 cup leeks. Normally summer soup also has carrots and potatoes.

2. exercise

Obviously exercise is very important even if it was just for a short period of time every day. Some say the best muscle gains you get when  you workout full speed for 15 minutes daily. I personally like to go for runs five times a week. Jogging is a great way to lose weight and even walking fast is great. 30 minutes of brisk walking a day can help you burn an additional 150 calories daily.

In case you are allowed to try the outdoor gyms in your area they are a nice way to enjoy the nature and fresh air while burning calories.

3. stress

To maintain lower stress levels make sure to talk to your friends and family and support each other. It is important to have social interactions even if you can’t do it face to face. We are in a great position to have the access to videocalls. You can also do breathing exercises, have a warm bath or a nice massage to help you get your mind away from stressful things.

4. Appetite control

Many eat for their sorrow or when they are stressed out. Some eat just for the sake of boredom. To control your appetite make a new habit. It takes an average two months to make a new behavior become automatic. For some it might take just 18 days! You can also switch unhealthy snacks into healthy versions. Maybe you want to start a new hobby? In case of thinking about staring a new hobby set a goal you want to reach in the future. this can keep you motivated and willing to continue your new habit.

To mention healthy snacks I enjoy I must mention chickpea crisps that are made from brown rice, chickpeas, sunflower oil and sea salt. I also love roasted seaweed, apples and organic mylk chocolate sultanas that are made from natural ingredients. Try to focus on non processed foods. Dried fruits are also my favorites amongst homemade popsicles (made from organic oranges).

5. sleep

Try to sleep at least 8 hours. Sleep will affect you so much that you can’t dismiss this tip. having a good night of sleep will help you stay motivated and energetic and that is the key to success. It also matters what quality of sleep you get so make sure to eat healthy foods that are gentle for your stomach and that are easily digestible. Try to eat your last meal near 6 pm.

About Me:

Welcome to my blog! I write about healthy diets, weightloss and money tips. I have struggled for years to lose weight and tried many different diets. When I finally decided to focus more on my health than just wanting to lose weight I started losing weight naturally. It was a full lifestyle change. One key point through this transformation was basically going on a paleo diet. You might want to check out Dr. William Davis.

As a person who moved to a different country I know how hard it can be to get a decent job. I wanted to include different money tricks and tips on my blog to help people who have ended up in similar situations.

I write two blogs and you can check out my other website at castleandbeauty.com .
