When we start a new healthy diet we will have cravings and that is why we need healthy snacks. When you have some healthy snacks on the table you will most likely end up having them instead of grabbing a pack of candy. This list of snacks is specifically made for summer time and to help beat the ice cream cravings. You will find that all of these recipes are extremely easy to make and I will be also revealing my favorite ones. All of these are great and very different from each other and I’m sure you will like them. All of the following recipes are great for a vegan or paleo diet.
We start off with these delicious seed crackers. For me this has been a very nice replacement for bread and if you like hummus you can make this hummus recipe as the dip. This same dip will be great for dipping veggies as well which is the second snack idea. I do not have a picture of veggies and the dip but it’s the same hummus dip so here’s the recipe:
-Soak 1 can of chick peas overnight and add them into a blender with:
-a cup of sesame seeds
-squeeze of a lemon juice
-2 garlic cloves
-1 tsp salt
-and a little bit of water if needed for blending and according to what kind of consistency you are after. This will be a lot of hummus so you can use it with your seed crackers as well as veggies. My favorite veggies to dip are carrots, cucumbers and celery.
What comes to the seed crackers they are very easy to make as well. Blend together:
-1 cup ground flaxseeds
-1/3 cup sesame seeds
-1/4 cup chia seeds
-1/2 cup ground pumpkin seeds
-1 tsp salt
(mix the dry ingredients together before you add water)
– 1 and 1/4 cup water
When this mixture turns into a dough you can place it on two baking trays between two pieces of baking paper before you roll dough. Otherwise it will get stuck on your rolling pin. Put these in the oven 100 C for 2 and a 1/2 h.
Next one in our list we have delicious chia seed pudding. This particular jar is made from chia pudding and pink Nice Cream and you can find this particular Nice Cream recipe from here. Chia pudding is very easy to meal prep the night before and enjoy in the morning or throughout the day. All you need to do is to mix:
– 2 tbsp of chia seeds
-cup of organic coconut milk (or any milk you prefer)
-tsp of vanilla
Mix these well together and leave in the fridge overnight.
This is one of my Nice Cream recipes that will fill your ice cream cravings at summer. Mix together in a blender:
-1 and 1/2 cup frozen mango
-1 cup frozen raspberries
-1 frozen banana
-1/4 fresh coconut water
You can decorate this with whatever you would like. I used some slices of mango. This healthy nice cream bowl is about 300 calories. Go check out the rest of my Nice Cream recipes here.
These are kale chips. Yes you heard me right and I must say these really surprised me when I first tasted them because these are really good! So if you are looking for a healthy replacement for chips then you must try these. Extremely easy to make. All you need to do is mix:
-67g kale in pieces
-1 tbsp olive oil
-1/2 tsp salt
After making sure these are well mixed and the kale is not dry you put these in the oven 175 C for 10-15minutes.
Very simple yet delicious. I love the taste of oranges the most when it comes to refreshing popsicles but you can juice any of your favorite fruits and make them into a nice cooling popsicle.
Yet another great summer snack idea! Fill these sticks with your favorite pieces of fruit and you’ll be snacking on these. Sometimes we feel lazy and we want to just grab something that you don’t have to prepare. That’s why these fruit sticks are so good cause you don’t have to peel or chop any fruit. You can just grab a stick and enjoy. I used golden kiwi, green kiwi and mango but I must say banana would have also worked great with these.
I had to add this pizza salad recipe on this list. This is so delicious! For this recipe you will have to roast some cherry tomatoes. The recipe goes like this:
-Cherry tomatoes chopped in a baking tray with
Put these in the oven 150 C for 1 and 1/2h.
-add the cherry tomatoes & a sprinkle of salt and enjoy.
Here we have a sweet treat, dates! Many of us love dates, they are sweet, filling and have a nice amount of calories in them so they will give you some energy to wait until the next meal. These are natures candy. If you want to have something a bit more special I recommend trying banana bliss bites from health lab kids. Those are made from coconut oil, banana, coconut and dates. I got mine from Woolworths and they are my favorite!
What would be a better summer snack than a bowl of fruit! This bowl is made from a half a watermelon. Watermelon is great specifically for summer since it’s so hydrating and delicious. You can fill the bowl with whatever fruits you would like. I used yellow and red dragonfruit, watermelon, golden and green kiwi and mango. I also made another bowl out of a half of a pineapple. Just make sure your pineapple is yellow and ripe. Green is not ripe enough and orange is too ripe. You want to have a ripe pineapple or your tongue starts bleeding easily.
Welcome to my blog! I write about healthy diets, weightloss and money tips. I have struggled for years to lose weight and tried many different diets. When I finally decided to focus more on my health than just wanting to lose weight I started losing weight naturally. It was a full lifestyle change. One key point through this transformation was basically going on a paleo diet. You might want to check out Dr. William Davis.
As a person who moved to a different country I know how hard it can be to get a decent job. I wanted to include different money tricks and tips on my blog to help people who have ended up in similar situations.
I write two blogs and you can check out my other website at castleandbeauty.com .
